Samenvatting
Twelve ply-tear webbings, woven to study the effects of warp and weft count and binder properties on the energy absorption per unit mass of webbing, were torn at slow speed and in dynamic conditions up to 10 m/s. Main warp breakage occurred with certain constructions and conditions; however, an efficiency of 40 J/g at a mass fraction of 0.08 for binders and 0.3 for weft appeared reasonably safe for the conditions tested.
