Samenvatting

The validity of "linear changes in velocity" -crush relationship for modern passenger cars- is studied. The experimental work done to investigate the crush-energy vs. residual crush behaviour for a number of vehicle models is described. The repeated test technique is discussed in which the same vehicle is impacted repeatedly at lower speeds to yield multiple data-points for impact behaviour at higher speeds.
