Samenvatting
The results of a research program which examined factors determining the shape and mechanical properties of a vehicle crash padding system are evaluated. A three parameter model was developed to represent the mechanical behaviour of a crash padding foam material. The model can be used to accurately predict the effects of impactor and padding shape under impact conditions based on laboratory data.
