Samenvatting

An exemplary calculation is presented that quantifies the impact of glare on visibility for street lighting only. The effects of the design of street lighting on glare are discussed. The calculation indicated that if the glare of street lights and headlamps was reduced that visibility would be increased and light levels could be decreased. New technical standards are considered necessary. For the covering abstract see ITRD E123380.
