Samenvatting
In Britain the medical department of the Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) decides medical eligibility for licensing. In this article information is provided to assist the general practitioner with the interpretation of the epilepsy regulations for drivers or riders trying to obtain a group 1 licence (an ordinary licence for motorcars or motorcycles) in relation to epileptic fits or seizures. A very brief summary of the changes to legislation is also given, following the lifting of the lifetime ban in 1969.
