Comments are made on the need for, and the design and use of a diversified-use vehicle (DUV). The DUV is a vehicle that can be used for the ground transportation of one or more of the following: able-bodied passengers, handicapped persons, local parcel delivery, and light air-cargo parcels. The desirable vehicle design was identified as a van type vehicle that had the driver in front, a luggage and cargo carriage in the rear compartment over a rear-mounted power plant and transmission.
