Samenvatting
Since 1978 there exists in the municipality of Groningen a joint information system for data acquisition of traffic accidents. Data of the accident are given by the police, data of the injured are given by the ambulance services and data of the medical treatment are made by the hospital. In this report emphasis is laid on the meaning of severity of injuries. The different classification systems are analysed. The more dimensioned severity scale like the AIS of the ISS show to be most useful for this project.
