This paper presents mathematical relationships between aggregate absorption and the Los Angeles abrasion test results. Regression analysis was carried out to evaluate three types of mathematical models including linear, power, and exponential functions. Data used in the analysis were obtained from construction projects carried out in Canada, the United States, Egypt, and Australia. The calibrated models suggest that a relationship exists between aggregate absorptivity and soundness (abrasion test) and such a relationship depends on the environmental conditions and may be source specific.
