Samenvatting

The purpose of this paper is to study the role of cranial structures on infant skull response. The studies explored the impact response of the six-month infant head under specific high speed loading conditions that result from close proximity airbag deployments into rear facing child restraint systems. Different models were tested in order to evaluate possible improvements as to their reactions to crash testing in order to make their reactions and injuries similar to that of an actual infant.
