In many countries the road development programmes have recently scaled down and implemented much slower. There are many important reasons, nevertheless, because of this the road transport consumes more fuel and emits more exhaust gas. The methods of evaluation of the fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission, worked out and being used in Poland are presented.
