Samenvatting
This report reviews progress made in the development of databases on accidents, casualties and exposure measures for each transport mode, and, where gaps exist, identifies options for European Union action. Four sections, covering road, air, rail, and water transport, examine currently held accident data and make recommendations for the future, which include road safety information for the public and co-operation between accident investigation authorities. On financing the development of these activities, it is recommended that full funding should come within the budget of the European Community.
