Samenvatting
The main aim of this publication is to provide transport statistics for the EU Member States in an easy to read format. Most of the data covers the period 1970-1996. Statistics are presented under the following section headings: general data; infrastructure; means of transport; goods transport; passenger transport; safety; environment; and also by individual Eurpean country. There is brief comparison of EU with other country statistics including the USA. In appendices, addresses for transport statistical sources are given.
