Samenvatting

Vehicle Scheduling and Control Systems (VSCS) or Automatic Vehicle Monitoring (AVM) systems are more and more used by the road public transport networks. To allow for efficiency, interoperability and compatibility between equipments and software packages coming from different suppliers it is very important to develop suitable standards. In Europe these standards are developed inside CEN TC278 (Road Traffic and Transport Telematics) WG3 (Public Transport). The majority of the envisioned standards in this field have already been developed and are either in the commenting period preceding the vote or in the voting period, or have been already voted positively. They deal mainly with the ergonomic interfaces of the equipments, the onboard data transmission bus and the reference data model of the database of the operating company. (A)
