Samenvatting

In 1989, a study funded by the Transportation Ministry, was carried out on 2550 persons injured in road accidents in three regions of Israel. Evacuation of the injured was investigated using the variables of destination, type and duration of the evacuation. Not all of the injured arrived directly to the emergency room. Data were collected from interviews in the emergency room, from medical files for those persons requiring hospitalization, and from telephone interviews with all injured persons, one month after the accident.
