The implementation of the Delft bicycle network plan, consisting of a variety of measures, has been evaluated. This evaluation was carried out as a before- and- after study into the effects of the plan on bicycle use, traffic safety and perceived cycling conditions. It was found that the bicyle nework plan resulted in a significant increase in bicycle use and in improved cycling conditions. Car use did not increase in the study period.
