In 1979 recommendations were presented for a more uniform sinusoidally shaped traffic bump. In 1986 an evaluation is made on the application of these recommendations. It is shown that only in 25% of the Dutch cities this traffic bump is used. Arguments for this bump are (1) a uniform construction (2) a good perception (3) comfortable for cyclists. Arguments against are (1) costs of construction are too much (2) construction is too difficult, and (3) the bump looses his shape too easily.
