Samenvatting
An accident index was derived for each individual operator representing the number of accidents he would be expected to have as the result of the individual mileage operated under the varying hazards of the several routes, during different periods of the year, and at different hours of the day. The frequency distribution of expected accidents was very similar to a normal probability distribution indicating traffic accidents are governed by the laws of chance. No relationships were found that would permit the results to be used for predicition. /author/
