Samenvatting

The Abbreviated Injury Scale, or AIS, has become the chief system for evaluating the severities of injuries incurred in automobile accidents and in human tolerance studies. The AIS will be evaluated as a scale of probability of death. Data will be obtained from the National Accident Sampling System (NASS) to evaluate the correlation between the 3 most severe injuries in a case and the probability of, death. A study will also be made to examine the dependency of death on the body regions in which injuries occurred.
