Samenvatting

It has been shown that heat engine-battery hybrid vehicles use much less petroleum than conventional vehicles, while the batteries are able to supply energy to remove part of the road load from the engine. By adjustment of the control strategy suggested in this paper fuel consumption can be minimized for any trip length for particular driving cycles.
