Samenvatting

A field trial of an Urban aid (Automatic Incident Detection) system based on computer vision techniques has been carried out within the frame of the INVAID II project. One test site was a selected area of the city of Valencia (Spain) covering four junctions and five main streets and avenues. The second site was a complex intersection in Arcueill (Paris). The INVAID Urban system presents a new approach for aid using spatial detection and synchronised diagnosis with the traffic lights status. The system elements and their installation, the evaluation methodology and the results obtained are described herewith. (A)
