Samenvatting

This paper studied the effect of a single diagrammatic sign installed on a complex interchange in Virginia. After erratic maneuvers were classified by type, before-and-after data were collected. The results are discussed and it was found that after installation of the diagrammatic sign, weaving maneuvers in the gore area decreased; partial weaves increased, and accidents were reduced 35 per cent during 11 months.
