Samenvatting

The evaluation of the seat belt legislation that is being carried out in Canada is many-faceted: (1) roadside surveys are monitoring belt use rates; (2) telephone surveys are monitoring attitudes toward the legislation and seat belts; (3) monthly accident statistics are being watched; and (4) hospital costs, injury type and severity are looked over. The most up-to-date results are presented.
