Samenvatting

Traffic density is presented as a measure of effectiveness of operations resulting from a number of geometric design alternatives. Different ramp types and spacing, collector-distributor roads, auxiliary lanes, and lane drops were investigated after which it was concluded that freeway designs offering freedom of choice to drivers will result in smoother and more efficient operation.
