Samenvatting

Motorcycle safety is influenced by the combined impact of many vehicle, roadway and rider elements. Motorcycle rider education is an element that encourages safe driving by riders. The purpose of the study described in this report was to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of motorcycle rider education on the driving behavior and safety records of motorcycle riders. This study within the current data's framework attempts to quantify those driving driving behavior and safety record differences between cyclists who have taken a motorcycle rider course and those who have not taken a motorcycle rider course. In addition, results from this study could be used in evaluating the feasibility of waiving the cycle skill test for a motorcycle license when the cyclist has passed the motorcycle rider course.
