Samenvatting

Five different noise barriers, including their materials, type of support, and costs are described. Data on their effectiveness are given. Results indicate that barriers 10 to 12 feet hight, located midway between the houses and the pavement or at highway shoulder 60 to 140 feet from the nearest houses, provided only a 2 to 6 Decibel reduction at the first row of houses. Other results and conclusions are quantified and described.
