Samenvatting

This paper was presented at the session titled `Risk management i the roads sector - safety management'. This paper discusses the results of analyses of casualty collision data for a multi-year time period in the province of Alberta. The authors examined published collision statistics in Alberta with a view to identifying driver demographics, driver condition or driver actions that may be more closely targeted in campaigns to reduce traffic collisions. The main objective of this paper is to examine the driving campaign targeting several categories of drivers and the collision rates for these categories. Then, a question to ask: are we aiming these campaigns to the right people? (A)
