Examination of factors related to the development and performance of open- graded asphalt friction course.

The Blair County Experiment was set up to investigate the influence of permeability on asphalt concrete durability. The performance analysis was separated into three principal research efforts (1) an accelerated durability analysis on pavement samples (2) a long term durability analysis under environmentally aged samples, and (3) a long term skid resistance evaluation.
