Samenvatting

Hazardous driving behaviour is classified into 4 categories; (1) near accidents defined as actions resulting in the driver, or another driver, being forced to carry out an emergency stop or take evasive action; (2) risky manoeuvres defined as behaviour which could lead to an accident or near accident; (3) lapses defined as misunderstanding of the traffic situation; and (4) unnecessary manoeuvres. Results of the classifications are presented in tabulated form, together with behaviour on classification route relating to accident experience, consistency in use of signals and rear mirror use.
