EMAS is the expanded monitoring and advisory service in Singapore. It is used to monitor an expressway network of 250km and two adjacent twin-bore tunnels. The basis of EMAS is the Traffic Expert produced by Steria Company. The components of the system are described including system supervision, traffic monitoring, tunnel surveillance, incident detection, variable message signs, traffic control, and tunnel ventilation regulation.
