Samenvatting

During 1986 /87 the responsible road authorities in the state of Victoria, Australia introduced a formalized roadside hazard management program aimed at reducing the incidence and consequence of vehicle collisions with fixed roadside objects. The program is based on a cost- effective approach to the identification and treatment of roadside hazards on both new works and existing road sections. This paper details the background to the adoption of the current program.
