An experiment to determine the relative legibility distances of route numbers and place names on directional signs.

It is known that place names and route numbers on road traffic directional signs are both widely used by drivers. An experiment has therefore been carried out to determine hat should be the relative heigths of names and numbers so tha they can be read from the same distance.
