Samenvatting

Honda participated in the Advanced Safety Vehicle Project Phase 3 (ASV-3), which was proposed by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Within this project an Inter-Vehicle Communications-based Driving Support System is used to simultaneously avoid rear-end collisions withstationary vehicles in front and head-on collisions with oncoming vehicles. This situation requires the driver to judge and then perform two different drives at the same time to avoid the collision. To resolve this problem, a warning system was developed that provides haptic warning methods, directly related to the drives of accelerating, turning and decelerating. A verification test was conducted to confirm the effectiveness and validity. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
