Samenvatting
The paper describes the work aimed at the intelligent integration of economic appraisal, using the World Bank HDM-III model, and maintenance management with system BSM, developed by Burrow and Snaith. The work is in two parts. One is to make HDM-III more accessible to the less expert user by creating an expert system front-end. The other is to create an expert system to use HDM-III to attempt to optimize the maintenance treatments recommended by BSM. The aim is to provide a link between the two existing models.
