This report investigates how techniques related to knowledge based systems ("expert systems") can support work with traffic safety in local communities. As part of the project local community activities in the field of traffic safety have been analyzed and comparisons have been made with the methodology suggested by SÄTIK. The goal of the project SÄTIK (Safe Traffic in Our Community) is to improve work with traffic safety. The results show differences between the situation today at SÄTIK. Thereby it is possible to identify areas with need for support. Such areas are, inter alia, analyses of local traffic safety problems and countermeasures. It is likely that knowledge based system are better suited as based system are better suited as support than systems based on traditional software technology. (A)
