A short survey on the possibilities for the application of expert systems in the field of traffic and transport is presented. The purpose of the study was to clarify the determination of the place of expert systems with regard to information systems and to indicate the subjects in traffic and transport where expert systems could be applied. It is concluded that there exist almost no fully detailed and no operational applications of expert systems in traffic and transport.
