The extent of auto and health insurance coverage by state group and for individual states was analyzed. There was little variability in the extent of auto and health insurance coverage among states categorized by type of auto compensation system in effect-tort, no-fault, or add-on. While there were more substantial differences among individual states, small sample sizes may account, in part, for these differences.
