Exterior vehicle noise and its effects : a survey of research on exterior vehicle noise, traffic noise, and the effects of noise on people.

This report surveys existing research knowledge pertinent to the problem of establishing a rational for exterior vehicle noise standards. In the analysis of the overall problem, it reviews three main subject areas of vehicle noise, traffic noise and the effects of traffic noise on people. It identifies the steps involved in arriving at a rationale for future for exterior vehicle noise levels.
