Samenvatting
A careful study has been made of the pathological mechanism of peripheral nerve lesions in cases of injury to the extremities. The mechanism varies from case of to case, and is mostly multifactorial. Special attention is directed to the secondary damage appearing in the nerves during the early post-traumatic stage because most will be the result of operative or conservative treatment of fractures.
