Samenvatting

Passenger vehicles manufactured today are considerably lower than their predecessors fifty years ago. This trend still continues, however it is not always appreciated. Particularly there has been a significant reduction in overall height during the last ten years and consequently a lowering of driver eye level. This has important implications in the visibility aspects of highway design and engineers should be aware of current eye heights and any predictable future changes.
