Samenvatting

Previous research has demonstrated that angry facial expressions are readily associated with aversive events, whereas happy faces are not. The present study involved 4 experiments where pictures of facial expressions were used as conditional stimuli in aversive electrodermal conditioning. The results are interpreted as suggesting that humans are biologically predisposed to react adaptively to angry and happy facial expressions.
