Facilities for slightly disabled passengers in the railway transport system in Poland.

This paper presents the simple methods for improving access by disabled people to rail bound transport in Poland. These include: a) priority at ticket offices; b) special seats in all carriages for invalids and mothers with small children; c) free or half price tickets for war and military invalids; and d) half price tickets for the blind and their guides. Facilities for slightly disabled people include: a) the appointment of staff to take care of the handicapped while in the station; b) first aid points; c) the installation of ramps with rails; d) modification of ticket offices, telephone boxes and toilets to make them more accessible to people in wheelchairs; and e) installation of large pictograms to show where various services such as toilets are located.
