Samenvatting

As part of a Nordic study concerning factors influencing drivers choice of speed, speed measurements have been conducted on six selected road segments in Denmark. 822 of the drivers were interviewed at the location. They were not informed of the recording of their speed. 69% of the drivers have subsequently filled in an additional questionnaire. The results deal with connections between recorded speed, stated speed and reported normal speed. Factors related to the actual driving, as well as factors that are more generally related to choice of speed (e.g. interaction with other road users, consideration of the environment, attitudes to speed limits) will be examined. Implications for measures against speeding will be discussed. (A). The paper consists of this abstract.
