Samenvatting
The processes of aging and their effect on driving ability among both the young and the old are discussed. It is noted that drivers in both groups have a higher crash risk per mile than among middle aged drivers. Psychological and developmental factors associated with the process of maturing appear to explain this risk among the young drivers; among older drivers, physiologic factors seem to predominate.
