Samenvatting

Results of an investigation of highway accidents at curves on rural highways are presented. The study indicated that the relative contribution of the degree of curve, length of curve, shoulder width and transition geometry associated with the curve could be rated relative to contribution. The speed limit and traffic volume characteristics emerged as two other important factors.
