Samenvatting

An important segment of a recent in-depth, on scene investigation of road crashes involving pedestrians was the isolation of factors contributing to the crash. These factors were classified as (A) main, (B), aggravating, or (C) uncertain. Results indicated that nearly all the (A) factors were behaviourally oriented and that more of these factors were attributed to the pedestrians themselves than to the drivers who collided with them.
