Samenvatting

The state of Oregon is in the process of developing a decision model that will be used to improve the decision-making process concerning daytime versus nighttime construction and maintenance activities. In reviewing the literature, a comprehensive list of factors was available that was well defined and articulated. However, the literature did not provide information on the relative importance of the various factors. The findings from the literature review and the results from an extensive survey are provided. The survey details the views of 446 respondents from within the state of Oregon and 25 other states. Congestion, traffic control, and safety were the most important factors in making these decisions.
