Samenvatting
Following the results reported at the eight ARRB conference (1976), it has now been possible to quantify the acceptable fraction of traffic signals failed in 12 defined hazardous display modes, the total fraction being O.86%. These figures are based on the audience studies reported previously, and on rates of occurrence of accidents at blacked-out traffic signals, together with figures for the average number of blacked-out signals.
