Samenvatting

A total of 517 road crashes in western sydney, australia, to which ambulances had been called, were attended by multi-disciplinary teams in the period october 1976 to june 1977. This report provides information on procedures used and the case histories of 71 crashes investigated at the scene and in further studies during the first 3 months in which 155 crashes were attended. The 84 crashes, in which no traffic unit other than a passenger car was involved, were not studied in depth. The remaining 71 which involved pedestrians directly in 14 cases, pedal cyclists in 6 cases, motor cyclists in 31 cases, 1 bus and 20 trucks, as well as many cars were all the subject of in-depth study, reported here. This is the first of three quarterly reports. There will also be a final report. (Author/publisher)
