Samenvatting
The development of a frequency doubter in the rear of a lead car in order to reject false targets such as reflection from roadside objects and cars in adjacent lanes appears to be important for a practical rear-end collision-avoidance system for automobiles. The system and the costs are discussed. Comments are made on the complex computer requirements for a full- blown collision avoidance system.
