Samenvatting

The study examines the relationship between the speed at which learner drivers drive, their intellectual and emotional characteristics, and the manner in which they learn to drive. Results reported show speed choice of L-drivers to be consistent across different speed zones and situations based on the speed at which they drove during training. Given the difficulties in maintaining appropriate speeds in later life, the identification of early influences on speed choice is considered of importance.
